"The Chaff Store" by Oldshed Productions
Depicting a Mobile Chaff Cutter.
"D" Size Landscape - Premium Matte Paper - 15" x 19" (380mm x 480mm)
"E" Size Landscape - Premium Matte Paper - 22" x 30" (560mm x 765mm)At the November 2000 Beverly Festival, East of Perth Western Australia. a lady called Marion Mason asked us to check out her parent’s farm in Katanning in the south west of Western Australia.
Eleven months later we managed to get there and we were pleased with what we saw.
A tour of the farm revealed (amongst other things) an old 19th century Chaff Cutter and luckily the lighting conditions were such, that we could shoot it in the middle of the day with only minimal additional lighting.
The atmospheric effect in the image was achieved with the sunlight coming through the left-hand side of the scene and as the floor was covered in very fine super phosphate dust, disturbing it created a fine haze in the scene making a beautiful atmospheric effect.
