PHOTOGRAPHERS’ LOCATION NOTES
This is the first of Oldshed’s “barn find’ style of photography. Sarge had been working as a Professional Advertising photographer in Perth, Western Australia, often photographing new vehicles for advertising purposes. On weekends he would occasionally photograph restored classic cars for enthusiasts. He produced several car calendars in the 1990s for self promotion.
His fascination for restored cars and especially what ignited the car restorer’s passion for car restoration finally let him to the idea that the most exciting thing for a car restorer was to discover a barn find.
This led Sarge on the journey of Barn Find photography. This particular image wasn’t strictly a barn find as the Jaguar was partially restored at the time of shooting but it was his first attempt at this style of photography.
The old weatherboard shed was in the beachside suburb of Cottlesloe near Perth in Western Australia.
Not a lot is known about this particular vehicle however the Jaguar XK 150 was produced between 1958 and 1961.
